I came across this recipe in a cookbook titled "Favorites." It is one of my new favorite breakfast foods. It made our house smell soooo wonderful, it smelled like Christmas!
2 cups flour
1 1/2 ts baking powder
1 ts ground cinnamon
1 ts ground ginger
1/4 ts ground cloves
1/4 ts salt
2 eggs, separated
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup molasses
1 cup milk
Mix together dry ingredients and set aside. Beat 2 egg whites and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in molasses egg yolks and milk. Add dry ingredients and mix until combined. Fold in beaten egg whites. Bake on a waffle iron and serve with maple syrup and whipped cream.
I froze the left overs and then put them in the toaster a couple days later and they were just as good!

Angela --this looks heavenly! The next chance I get to make breakfast I am going to try these!
Okay, so I tried these last week and they were delicious! They were very dense though -- I had to drink a lot of milk in between each bite to get it to go down. :)
